R.C.G.A. Rules of Golf govern play except as modified by these Local Rules (revised, November, 2008)
1. Out of Bounds
All fences, the clubhouse, pro shop, putting green area, parking lot, driving range, short game facility, maintenance grounds and areas marked by white stakes or lines are out of bounds. (Rule 27 Ball Lost or Out of Bounds)
A Ball that crosses over or under an out of bounds line and comes to rest beyond that boundary is deemed out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course. (Decision 27/20)
2. Rock Borders and Walls
Rock walls and curbs are immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2 Immovable Obstructions). The rock curbs that border paved pathways are deemed to be part of the pathway.
3. 150 Yard Bushes
These bushes are an integral part of the course no free relief. (Definition Obstructions)
4. Overhead Power Line
If a ball strikes an overhead power line, the ball must be abandoned, the stroke disregarded, and another ball played from that position without penalty. (Rule 33-8, Decision 13)
5. Protection of Trees Identified by Yellow Ribbon
If such a tree interferes with a players stance or swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty, and dropped in accordance with Rule 24-2 Immovable Obstruction. (Appendix 1A #5e)
6. Nurseries and Flower Gardens
The flower gardens located through the green are deemed ground under repair from which relief MUST be taken.
7. Hole #18 Rock Garden within Lateral Hazard
If a ball comes to rest within the large garden that is contained within the lateral water hazard on hole #18, the player must proceed under penalty under Rule 26 Water Hazard. (Rule 25-1B, note 1)
8. Sprinkler Heads on the Edge of a Putting Green
Sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and Rule 24 provides relief for swing or stance interference. In addition, if a ball lies off the green but not in a hazard and a sprinkler head within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club lengths of the ball, intervenes on the line of play, the player may take relief as follows: mark the ball, lift and drop the ball at the nearest point to where the ball lay, which (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids such intervention, and (c) is not in a hazard or on the putting green. (Appendix 1 A, #5d)
9. Wood Chips
Wood chips used as ground cover may be loose impediments.
10. Embedded Ball
A ball embedded in its own pitch-mark through the green, except in sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay, but not nearer the hole. (Note the pitch-mark may not be repaired.)
11. Drop Zones on Holes 10 & 16 Additional Options for a Ball in Lateral Water Hazard
Hole 10: A drop zone behind and to the right of the green is available for a ball crossing the pathway and entering the lateral hazard to the right of the bridge.
Hole 16: Two drop zones are available to the left of the green for a ball entering the lateral (red staked) water hazard between the two drop zones. Players may only select the drop zone that is nearest to the point of entry and no closer to the hole than the point of entry.
12. Practice Chipping Area
The chipping green along the east side of the parking lot and the immediate surrounding area are part of the course on which practice is permitted prior to or between rounds of stroke play competition. (Rule 33-2c)
